Not everyone dislikes winter, even in the cold, monochromatic North. But let’s be honest, the lack of variation outdoors (along with the low temps) can take their toll on your psyche. Warm tones and textures inside can break the monotony of another white day outside. You can add color through upholstery or wood, decorative glass, artwork and even your dining table place settings. And color doesn’t have to be immersive. There’s something to be said for a few strong color anchors in an otherwise serene setting. The texture comes in with mixes of fabrics, hard surfaces, shapes and layers.
