The LCW Chair (Lounge height side Chair on Wood base) was designed by Charles and Ray Eames in the late 1940s and originally manufactured by the Evans Molded Plywood Division. Herman Miller soon took over and the chair design achieved true icon status. These authentic models are from Herman Miller circa 2006 and made of layered ash plywood. They have never been used, and sat in covered storage for years. They are in mint condition and have all the original labels. Available individually.

Designed and developed in 1946 by Charles and Ray Eames, this clever room divider might be just right for current times. We all need a little privacy, but it’s nice to share space with the right people, too. The Folding Wood Screen (FWS) adds flexibility and portability, with six undulating panels that unfold from a slim vertical to a five-foot divider. The panels are made using ash veneer on the front and back over layers of maple. Each panel is connected with a polypropylene mesh fabric, allowing flexible positioning of the panels. The FWS was in production from 1946 to 1955, retired and then reintroduced by Herman Miller in 1994. This piece is from that second generation of production. Open screen dimensions are 60″L x 2-1/4″D x 68″H, and 10″W in the folded position.

Teak-framed mirror by Aksel Kjersgaard (Denmark) opens to give you an expansive vanity mirror experience. The mirror is designed to be hung or it can rest – while opened – on a countertop. Dimensions are 25-9/16″W (closed) and 51-1/8″W (open) x 1-3/4″D x 23-1/2″H.

We always welcome furniture from the 1960s Lane Acclaim collection. The design is classic, the materials and construction are excellent and they restore like a dream. These step tables are made with walnut and ash and were freshly refinished in our workshop. Dimensions are 20″W x 27″D x 21″H to the top tier and 14-1/4″H to the lower tier. Available individually.

Enduring design from Lane Furniture that’s as popular today as it was in its early 1960s heyday. These tables are made of walnut and fruit wood. Freshly restored and in mint condition. Dimensions are 21″W x 28″L x 20″H. They are available individually.

Truly spectacular china hutch from Baker Furniture’s Far East Collection by Michael Taylor. This rare piece is a room-making design with modern-meets-Asian influences. There are three bays, and each has from top to bottom (1) open display with adjustable glass shelf, (2) utility drawer and (3) closed cabinet with two adjustable wood shelves. The display areas are lighted. Freshly rejuvenated and in excellent condition. Dimensions are 67″L x 14″D x 60″H.

This compact coffee table comes from the imagination and skills of our furniture-making partner. It’s another original design and scaled to fit alongside vintage mid-century furniture. Crafted using solid Santos mahogany, an extra-dense wood found in Mexico, Central America and South America. That makes this table especially durable and heavy. Dimensions are 42″L x 17-1/2″D x 16″H.

Newly made accent table pair from our furniture-making partner. These are ideal for smaller spaces, between a pair of chair or as bedside tables. Crafted using solid Santos mahogany, an extra-dense wood found in Mexico, Central America and South America. Dimensions are 17″W x 17″D x 21″H.

If you’re looking for a modern dining table that accommodates big groups, this teak draw leaf table can hold from 8 to 12 in comfort. Vintage Danish modern table by Skovby Mobelfabrik made in Denmark. It’s a large table from the get-go and has two self-storing leaves that draw from each end to super-size the table top. Dimensions with the leaves stored are 70-3/4″L x 40-1/4″D x 28-1/2″H. Length with both leaves extended is 125-1/2″. Freshly restored with a hand-rubbed oil finish.

Iconic original coffee table designed by Adrian Pearsall and made by Craft Associates. The 1465-T features a solid walnut base (fully restored) that has an organic feel yet is precisely proportioned. The original kidney-shaped glass top is 1/2″ thick. Dimensions are 48″L x 32″D x 16-3/4″H.

Elegant modern bucket chairs upholstered in soft, supple gray leather. The swiveling seats are perched on heavy steel bases with four-point legs. Like-new condition.

We applied the old adage “necessity is the mother of invention” to a real world situation. This walnut Hooker Mainline tallboy chest came with good bones and great potential. But the three bottom drawer pulls, made using alloy, were beyond repair. So our partner sourced distinctive walnut replacements giving the piece a one-of-a-kind look. Of course, the entire chest is fully restored, with book-matched walnut drawer fronts and even the original drawer pulls on the top two drawers. Dimensions are 36″W x 20″D x 43-1/2″H.

This Clifford Pascoe iron frame chair is often misidentified as a Paul McCobb design. Fair enough. There are some strong similarities. But this little beauty is all Pascoe – and then some, not only restored but elevated. The iron rod frame was cleaned and re-coated in black. The bentwood back was stripped, stained and sealed to reveal handsome wood grain. And the seat is freshly upholstered in vintage, chunky wool with a tattersall on herringbone pattern. The background is charcoal black and gray while the windowpane pane is multi-colored.

Designed by Niels Otto Møller and introduced by J.L. Møller Møbelfabrik in 1963, the Model 80A stool is a Danish modern design classic. We have two available. Both have solid teak legs and hardwood frames. One features classic Danish woven cord and the other is upholstered in a neutral tweed fabric. Dimensions are 19-1/2″L x 14″W x 18-1/2″H.

Walnut accent table from Lane Furniture circa 1959 with burlwood inlays and solid lower shelf. Fully restored. Dimensions are 20″W x 30″D x 20-1/4″H.

We rarely have vintage shadowboxes in the store, but when we do they have to be really worthy. One of our +friends sourced this Illinois Moulding piece, but the images that flanked the mirror were damaged. So she replaced them using salvaged images from a large Turner Accessories print. The merger is an aesthetic success, with the wood box in a deep walnut finish and the moody skyline panels in saturated blues and greens. Dimensions are 39″ long x 18-3/4″ tall x 4-1/16″ projection.

Torch cut metal wall sculpture featuring two stylized owls on a craggy branch with crumpled leaves. Pretty cute but kinda spooky, too. Dimensions are 44”L x 6”D x 24”H.

Handsome bookcase made of steel and glass. Made by Globe-Wernicke beginning in about 1915, modular bookcases like these were used in both home and office settings. This set includes three bookcase/display sections, matching base and top (five pieces in all). Each bookcase/display section has a flip-front door with glass to protect the contents from dust and other incursions. All have original glass and knobs, and there are original component stickers on most of the pieces – plus the metal Globe-Wernicke badge. Rejuvenated with a fresh coat of sprayed gray enamel paint that closely matches the original color. Dimensions are 33″W x 13″D x 56-1/2″H.

Beautiful Danish modern hutch made in Denmark by Poul Hundevad. It’s a versatile piece that can serve in just about any space, from dining room or den to living room or office. HUTCH BASE: Asymmetrical compartments behind tambour doors that roll away smoothly. The wider side has a single adjustable shelf and the other has two adjustable shelves. Dimensions 54″L x 20″D x 26.5″H. HUTCH TOP: Teak-framed sliding glass doors, six adjustable glass shelves and interior lights on each side. Dimensions 54″L x 12″D x 51″H.

Alongside from his notable chairs, Jens Risom is known for the design of the versatile T 621 bench-coffee table. It features his signature floating top design, as well as the luxurious use of high-quality walnut. This piece is built strong, so it can be used many ways: as a coffee table, bench or platform for companion furniture. Fully restored. Dimensions are 54″L x 21″D x 15″H.

This solid cherry dining table and chairs made in the early 1960s by Willett Furniture Co. was built to last. So we revitalized it for the next generations of use. Starting with the table top, we refinished it to tease out the variegated wood tones. Next was rejuvenation of the table base and every chair. The table goes from compact to family-sized courtesy of two large leaves that drop to the sides when not needed. Plus there’s a 14″ external leaf. A pair of sturdy, tapered legs pulls out to support each leaf, then tuck away when not needed. There are six chairs, including two with arms – again all solid cherry. Includes a full set of table pads. Table length expands from 27″ with leaves down to 72″ with both leaves up and 86″ with the extra center leaf. Width is 44″ and height is 29″.

The turned rock maple legs don’t say “modern” yet this re-imagined bench is every bit of the mid-century era. We rescued this piece because we were impressed with the solid build of the frame – and yes, because the legs have charm. We chose a graphic fabric with a designer green ombré pattern on an ivory background. We retained the original double pillow design, piping and button tufting on top. Dimensions are 37-1/2″L x 20″D x 19″H.

The timelessly modern Rondo chair was design by interior architect Jan Lunde Knudsen circa 1961 and manufactured by Karl Sørlie & Sønner in Sarpsborg, Norway. It is simultaneously minimalist and inviting, combining a simple polished steel frame with rounded seat and hoop backrest. Freshly upholstered in high-grade leatherette. Dimensions are 23″W x 17″D x 27-1/2″H to the top of the seatback.

Handsome teak sideboard circa 1960s with details reminiscent of designs by Nils Jonsson for Hugo Troeds (Sweden). There is a four-drawer stack down the middle, flanked on each side by generously size compartments with adjustable shelves. We’ve taken this piece through a thorough rejuvenation. It has an oiled finish with a darker teak hue. Dimensions are 67″L x 19-5/8″D x 31″H.

The twin (or single) bed is scarce today, but it was the dominant frame size of the post-World War II era and into the 1960s. Even adult couples often had individual beds with a solo nightstand in between. This twin headboard/footboard combination is from Lane Furniture’s Perception collection. It features the signature woven walnut accent, heavily figured walnut expanse and American ash surround. This frame is freshly restored and just needs a readily available steel foundation to make it perfect for the cabin, in a kid’s room or as a daybed. The headboard is stamped on back with the manufacture date March 16, 1965. Headboard dimensions are 40-1/4″W x 36-1/4″H.

This upright cedar chest is from Lane Furniture’s Copenhagen collection. It’s a rare early piece from that line made Dec. 7, 1955. Present are Copenhagen’s unique ferrules (the brass cuffs around the base of each leg), the soft edge overhang and combination of light and dark-toned woods. The cedar-lined storage chest opens on top, and there is a felt-lined drawer below. Dimensions are 29″W x 17″D x 31-3/4″H.

Light up your modern space with The Illuminator, a modern floor lamp from Holtkotter in Germany. It features four bulbs operated by two pull chain switches. One switch controls three bulbs around the perimeter of the shade. The other operates a single bulb with a vertical orientation for up-lighting. All sockets accept standard base bulbs, including LED bulbs. The base is made of nickel with a brushed satin finish, and it is height-adjustable. Shade diameter is at the base is 18-1/4″. In like-new condition.

One of our talented partners created this diamond-shaped table lamp using solid walnut. The walnut frames a satin glass globe with brass trim. Uses a long-lasting LED lightbulb. Dimensions are 12″W x 30″ H.

Our furniture-making partner continues to deliver singular designs using high-quality woods and an unbridled sense of creativity. He sculpted this bench (or coffee table) using solid hickory and allowed the grain patterns to define the fluid shape. It’s simultaneously modern and organic. Plus, it’s one of a kind. Dimensions are 57”L x 13-1/2”D x 18”H.

Here’s another handcrafted original from our furniture-designing and making partner: a bench using South American-sourced andiroba wood. From the chevron backrest and cantilevered seat to the rich wood grain, it is both modern and organic with a style that could fit into most any decor. Dimensions are 49″L x 15″D x 30″H to the top of the back and 18″H seat.

Classic early 1960s walnut coffee table from Lane Furniture’s popular Rhythm collection. This configuration is less commonly found: it has a square cabinet with a super-sized drawer perfect for stashing games, crafts or your favorite throw for sofa surfing. Made April 16, 1966 and freshly restored. Dimensions are 18″ square x 16″ high.

A brand new design from our furniture-making partner. This elliptical-shaped coffee table is handmade with a whitewashed solid cherry top and ebony-stained wood base. Dimensions are 54″L x 18″D c 16-1/4″H.

It’s hard to deny the charm of an accent table that was designed specifically with darning socks in mind. Or maybe knitting a pair. This vintage table from Brode Blindheim (Norway) is as charming as it is practical. The sturdy teak frame houses a slide-out drawer for sewing notions atop a slide-out woven basket for holding sewing, knitting, needlework or other textile projects. Fully restored frame. Dimensions are 23-3/4″W x 21-1/8″D x 20″H.

Model C 120 easy chair from American-Danish design icon Jens Risom. The solid walnut frame – fully restored – is soft-edged with lightly sculpted arms. And although it’s compact in size, it offers the comfort of a fully upholstered chair. We reupholstered it in a rich navy tweed that plays off the deep walnut stain.

The latest chair design from our expert furniture-maker, handcrafted using solid walnut. Beautifully proportioned, powerfully built and always comfortable. The frame is 28″ at its widest x 30″ front to back x 32″ to the top of the back cushion.

If chairs could talk, oh the stories they’d tell. This particular chair would spin a tale of being abandoned by the side of the road. Sturdy and shapely but otherwise plain, the kind of chair cars would whizz past – unnoticed, unloved. Until a kindly furniture aficionado rescued it. She introduced the chair to a 1960s vintage bedspread. It was vivid, bold and exciting, yet flat as a pancake with no shape. You see where this is going, right? Today the plain little chair and the flat but lively fabric have come together to create a truly one-of-a-kind piece of furniture. One that can no longer be overlooked. Chair dimensions are 23″W x 29″D x 34″H.

We’re not sure who designed or made these swiveling, reclining tub chairs but they definitely have a 1960s late night talk show vibe. Polished steel bases with tilt control. Upholstered in dark mauve tweed fabric. Dimensions are 27”W x 29”D x 26”H and 17” seat height. There are two available.

Pair of rare Italian modern easy chairs designed by Paolo Buffa and made circa 1950s by Camea Brevettato (Italy). The backs recline manually, with positions from upright to relaxed to lounge time. The solid wood frames have a red-tinted finish with charming patina. There are two chairs available.

Compact, contemporary and comfortable two-seater sofa in jet black, high-quality leather with timeless modern styling. In immaculate condition. Dimensions are 58″L x 33″D x 30-1/2″H.

Ingenious convertible vanity-chest designed by Nils Jonsson for Torring Mobelfabrik (Denmark). This teak wonder looks like a compact chest of drawers, yet the top section actually slides out and flips open to reveal a large mirror and divided storage. The slideout gives you enough room for a small chair or bench. Fully restored with a hand-oiled finish. Dimensions are 36″W x 18″D x 31″H.

Teak nightstand designed by Nils Jonsson and made by Torring Mobelfabrik (Denmark). It features a large open compartment (perfect for your stack of bedtime reading) and an all-purpose drawer. Concave drawer pull. Freshly restored with an oil finish. Dimensions are 19-5/8″W x 17-1/4″D x 22-1/2″H.

This compact accent table was designed by Paul McCobb for his Irwin Collection that was made circa 1950s by Calvin Furniture. This configuration includes a walnut frame, slim top drawer with signature McCobb pulls, two woven cane shelves and an inlaid leather top. The cane is in perfect condition and we’ve rejuvenated the walnut. The leather top is fully intact – no tears or holes – with an age-appropriate patina. We cleaned and conditioned the leather to keep it supple. Dimensions are 20″W x 24″D x 19-1/4″H.

Our favorite furniture-making partner is a genius with chairs, but he also designs and makes other impressive originals. This freeform, accent table is just one example. He used solid anigre, a light-colored African hardwood, to produce a table with personality and practicality. The top has a soft reverse bevel and the features four tapered and angled legs. Dimensions are 27-1/2″W x 22″D x 21-3/4″H.

Classic Danish modern sideboard made circa 1960s by Clausen & Son. It has an open compartment on each side, accessible behind smooth-gliding bypass doors. There is a stack of four drawers down the center. The integrated bowtie-shaped teak handles give this piece its signature look. Fully restored with a hand-oiled finish. This teak credenza-sideboard delivers an understated, elegant design profile alongside impressive storage capacity. Made in Denmark by Dyrlund, it features two large tambour doors that slide open to reveal massive compartments with adjustable shelves (there are three to configure as you please). Down the middle is a bank of five tray drawers. The cabinet is finished on four sides, so it can be used to divide a large space. Restored top and refreshed all around with a teak oil finish. Dimensions are 74-1/2″L x 19-1/4″D x 30-5/8″H.

Long and low slung teak sideboard-credenza made in Norway. It features dual cabinets with one adjustable shelf in each, plus a four-drawer stack down the center. Dimensions are 72″L x 16-5/8″D x 30″H.

This free-standing room divider is an extraordinary combination; it’s both a work of art and a practical piece of furniture. From the Conant Ball Furniture Company Norsemates collection in the late 1950s to early 1960s, it is made of solid birch. Although its primary purpose is to partition larger spaces, it does so with a certain airiness: open dowels in the back and a raised bench-style base. We’ve imagined a number of uses for it. Our favorite is a stereo bench with one side of the base for components and the other for LPs. In exceptional condition. Dimensions are 52″W x 18-3/4″D (15″ bench depth) x 62-3/8″H.

Handsome display cabinet made in Denmark by Dyrlund and featuring top-notch materials, construction and finishes – including lots of teak solids. The compact size and open/concealed storage spaces add to its versatility. The lower section has four generous drawers with wood drawer boxes. Above are three backlit shelves that give the display area a warm glow. Dimensions are 43″W x 18″D x 58-1/2″H.

Bassett Furniture chest of drawers features richly restored walnut exterior, five generous drawers and a sculpted top reminiscent of a matador’s hat. It’s slightly oversized, offering extra storage capacity. Dimensions are 46″W x 18″D x 43-1/4″H.

This three-drawer chest (and a companion tallboy chest shown above) hail from the pre-Scandinavian design era in American furniture. It features three large drawers and integrated wood drawer pulls. Fully restored with a rich walnut finish. Dimensions are 44-1/4″L x 19-1/4″D x 33-1/2″H.

Before Scandinavian designs significantly influenced American furniture manufacturers, the sleek moderne style had its heyday. There are echoes of Art Deco and Machine Age in the look, and we still value them for their uncluttered modern profile. This tallboy chest of drawers (and a companion low chest shown below) is of that era. It features four larger-than-average drawers and integrated wood drawer pulls. Fully restored with a rich walnut finish. Dimensions are 32-1/4″W x 18-1/4″D x 48-1/4″H.

Tinkering with modern master’s furniture designs is a delicate balance between making the piece functional and honoring the original aesthetic. We think we nailed it with a pair of Jens Risom Design Group R chests that were missing their bases. The first part of the process was to restore the walnut exterior and then polish the signature Risom brass drawer pulls. Next, we collaborated with a local maker to design and craft solid walnut legs that are both strong and integrated. This is the three-drawer version. See our listing of the four-drawer companion. Dimensions are 36″W x 21″D (plus 1-1/2″ drawer pull projection) x 31-1/4″H.

If a headboard can affect your dreams, this stunning king headboard from Moreddi (Denmark) will give you big, bold ones. Restored with a teak oil finish. Dimensions are 81-1/2″L x 37″H.

Our Minnesota-based furniture-making partner is of Scandinavian descent, and he’s channeled that heritage into another original design. This handmade writing table has a strong Nordic vibe with the use of light woods – ash and maple – along with a simplicity of line and everyday utility. It features a tray-style top with upswept sides and a gentle scoop across the back. Dimensions are 42-1/2″L x 26-3/4″D x 30″H to desktop and 32″H to the top of the back.

Gunlocke Furniture is well-known in mid-century circles for its powerfully built and often elegantly designed chairs. The company has been a mainstay of upper echelon office furniture for decades. That heritage is part of what makes this sofa so exciting. The frame is built to last, so we invested in a complete makeover with all new upholstery and restoration of the exposed walnut base. Dimensions are 81″L x 31-3/4″D x 30″H to the top of the back cushions.

We started the relationship with our long-time furniture making partner over a pair of chairs. And although he’s made many other types of furniture – desks, coffee tables, console tables, nightstands and sofas – his first love is still chairs. His all-original designs are handmade in his Minneapolis/St. Paul workshop. For this design he used solid white oak for its strength, intricate grain pattern and sustainability. The seating platform and backs are slightly angled for comfort but the frame provides a more upright sitting position. The cushions are a blue and white tweed.

These contemporary Danish lounge chairs channel some of the best Scandinavian modern designs from the 20th Century. The frames are bentwood beech with a dark brown/black stain, and have tall backs. Iconic late 1960s/early 1970s chair designed by Bill Stephens and made by Knoll. It was first used in the then-new Yale School of Architecture student center. Just like the original, this chair has a rounded bamboo frame, an open bamboo hoop at the base of the back, and caned seat and seat back. It has a wood-burned “made in Poland” stamp in the frame. The frame and cane are in exceptional condition.

Handsome teak accent/coffee table designed by Henning Kjærnulf and made in Denmark by Vejle Møbelfabrik circa 1960s. Like so much Danish modern furniture, this piece offers versatility and can be used as a tall coffee table. Fully restored with an oiled finish. Dimensions are 27-1/4″ square x 20″ tall.

Elegant accent table designed by Folke Ohlsson and made in Sweden by DUX. Features upturned tabletop edges. Dimensions are 27-1/2″W in back and 22″W x 30″D x 20-3/4″H.

Throw a little variety into your decor with a piece or two that shakes up the monotony of an all-modern aesthetic. This handsome two-drawer antique chest might do the trick. All wood construction with a black exterior finish, red lacquered drawer boxes, distinctive drawer pulls and a beveled top edge. Dimensions are 22-3/4″ square x 23″ high.

The finish is exceptional for its age. The coil spring seat cushions are firm and wrapped in a dense fiber. The seat backs use the same dense material. The cushion covers are a durable cotton duck fabric in black with white piping. Dimensions are 69-1/2L x 39″D x 33″H.
