(St. Paul, MN) Oct. 5, 2015 – MidModMen+friends, the Twin Cities retailer of restored vintage modern home furnishings, is celebrating its third anniversary with pop-up sales, special merchandise and a few twists.

The store started as a three-month retail experiment on University Avenue in St. Paul. It’s since become a long-term presence – and destination – along the Green Line light rail route.

Store owner Neal Kielar sees a strong parallel between the success of the business and the Green Line corridor. “Both are about revitalization,” he said. “In our case it’s about restoring furniture and objects that were nearly discarded and then finding new homes for them.”

Anniversary events kick off Oct. 8 through 11 with 33 percent off all wall art and barware. On Oct. 10 there will be an outdoor pop-up sale. That day shoppers can expect a range of ready-to-use furniture and lighting at discounted prices.

“Some anniversary activities are planned and others will be spontaneous because our store is as much about experience as it is merchandise,” he said. “But there definitely will be cake.”

MidModMen+friends offers a classic modern mix of home furnishings grounded in clean, functional design with plenty of leeway for bold statements through art and found objects, strong color and unexpected combinations. The store carries a changing portfolio of furniture for every room, with pieces individually selected and rejuvenated or professionally restored according to need.
