One of partners - the one who’s been dazzling us with original furniture creations - surprised us this morning with a completely new chair design. And what a design! Handmade using African sapele, it has fluid lines and winglike arms. Even the cushions are artful, made with fabric from one of our favorites, @modernfabrics Upholstery work expertly done by @shopratsneedshopcats Scroll to to see this beauty from multiple angles. Sometimes the mission in the workshop is NOT to restore but to reimagine a piece of vintage furniture. This solid maple dresser was originally finished in a toned lacquer, applied with the intention of masking naturally occurring variations in the wood. When it came time to revitalize it, we used a clear coat finish to embrace and elevate the beauty of the maple and all its natural characteristics.

How about a side order of decor with your furniture entree? Lighting, artwork, cocktail sets, and even rosewood salt and pepper shakers. We have a big menu of tasty items (scroll to see more). Visit us Thursday through Sunday from 11am to 5pm.

Another successful customer collaboration: we worked with a customer to transform a pair a Tomlinson chairs, taking them from pretty to powerful. She choose an indigo fabric with a subdued herringbone pattern, a sophisticated counterpoint to the amber finish of the wood base. They’re off to their new home this week. And we’re off to tackle more transformations.

Nap, lounge or vamp in style on this restored sofa/daybed designed by Illum Wikkelso and made by Niels Eilersen. Solid wood frame with drop-down side panels let you transform from a two-seat sofa to a long single bed - and points in between. The back rests become headrests and are hollow so you can store pillows inside. Plus there’s a storage drawer below.
